This past weekend, I made my weekly trip to the local farmers' market to pick up fresh veggies and fruit (and, fine, indulge in some tasty snacks from all the stands). Right when I walked in, I saw a woman wearing a tiered maxi skirt; I instantly thought, "Oh, well isn't that so much cuter than my sweaty leggings" (which I had worn straight from barre class), but went along my way in my less-than-chic look. Within the half hour or so that it took me to grab all my usuals, though, I noticed no less than three more women were wearing the style, and now I can't stop thinking about adding one to my own closet.

While I'd argue that the look never really went out of style in my corner of beachy Southern California, the widespread return of the tiered maxi skirt plays into tons of trends I've been seeing lately—from Garden Girl to Regencycore (albeit with a more casual twist)—so I can totally see why it has become so popular again, especially in the summer months when easy, breezy and a little bit boho is the way to go. There are plenty of options out there to shop, but I've rounded up five of my faves that all come in at less than $130, so you can pick one up for yourself (and look like all of the cool women at my farmers' market) without breaking the bank.

1. SNDYS Ophelia Skirt

When it comes to trendy pieces, I love finding neutral hues so that it's easy to mix and match with items I already have in my closet—and this white number from SNDYS (a brand PureWow editors adore for their beachy summer dresses) is just the ticket. Despite its white shade, it won't be see-through thanks to the double lining, and with the drawstring at the waist, you can adjust it to fit as high or low rise as you like. Me? I'll be wearing it high with a cute crop top now and a slouchy sweater come fall.

2. Quince Organic Cotton Tiered Maxi Skirt

After seeing how much reviewers rave over this 100 percent organic cotton maxi from Quince, I've moved it to the top of my summer wardrobe wish list. One shopper writes, "Love it! This skirt is well-made and is so flattering. The wide waistband is very comfortable, and bonus—it has pockets! Will be wearing it a lot this summer!" Between the breathable fabric, functional design and comfy fit, what's not to love?

3. Petal & Pup Bambi Tiered Skirt

This gingham maxi is ideal for living out your Garden Girl dreams this summer—maybe donning it to your own farmers' market to pick up a fresh batch of flowers for the week (at least that's what I'm planning to do). You're sure to love the flattering A-line silhouette and stretchy elastic waistband, and if you want to complete the look, you can nab a matching top, too.

4. Anthropologie The Somerset Maxi Skirt

Anthropologie redesigned its best-selling Somerset dress into this chic skirt—and it's safe to say shoppers are loving it. The skirt's racked up tons of 5-star reviews, with one buyer sharing she's purchased the skirt in no less than *three* different colors for its incredible fit, and another calling out its smocked waist and lightweight material: "I love it, the waist is smocked so very comfortable, full skirt, nice lightweight fabric, and the tier details are super cute." Some reviewers say it does run large, though, so you might want to size down, especially if you're typically between sizes.

5. Aqua Tiered Maxi Skirt

I'm a sucker for a good floral come summer (I know, not exactly groundbreaking), and this one with a watercolor-esque print is truly stunning. Besides its gorge design, it has a flowy, relaxed cut, so it should feel nice and airy even on scorching days, and fits true-to-size. Plus, shoppers say it's soft, flattering and that the colors really pop in person, so really, what more could I want? Sorry, sweaty leggings—I'll be trading you for one of these beauties next weekend.
